lyrics
OUR BODIES, OUR CHOICE
Abort with sadness
Abort with grief
Or abort with happiness and relief
Because all that matters in the end
Is that you abort for whatever reason you can
You can grief and you can regret
Or you can move on and just forget
No one needs to know your reason
No one needs to know that you cried
You are valid
Your request are too and no one can tell you what to do
It's your body
It's your choice
No one can police your voice
Keep it a secret
Say it loud
Say it so much that you're proud
It's our bodies!
Abort with sadness
Abort with grief
Or abort with happiness and relief
Because all that matters in the end
Is that you abort for whatever reason you can
You can grief and you can regret
Or you can move on and just forget
No one needs to know your reason
No one needs to know that you cried
You look me in the eye and tell me that you don't give a fuck about me
You'll ignore us
You'll shame us
And you'll say we deserve to die
Spreading your lies to distort the image of the innocent
And you'll say that we deserve to die because of your beliefs

I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250
The Minneapolis band add a horn section, a running surrealist allegory about walls, and an occasional nod to the elegiac to their electroshocked post-punk. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 4, 2024
